In Light, Brisk, Poppy Jones (b.1985) has employed a complex blending of mediums to produce this gentle, dreamlike image of a shadow of a window cast onto a living room wall. This piece began as a photograph that Jones then transferred onto a piece of recycled suede through a process of monotype printing and subsequent overpainting. Light, Brisk effortlessly blends together various tones of yellow, blue, and purple to create a surface that undulates from one point to the next. Jones has transformed ephemerality into permanence, turning a fleeting moment of the everyday into something that will last forever.
